The Consumer Electronics Show (abbreviated as CES) is the world's most popular trade fair for the consumer electronics. It is a meeting point for the sector's top experts who present their newest and most innovative inventions and products. Since its first edition in 1967, CES has been shaped as an event which guides the electronics industry trends and the everyday use of hi-tech devices.
The Consumer Electronics show is held at one of the most popular exhibition venues in the United States - the Las Vegas Convention Center. Over a total of 200,000 sq m (2,150,000 sq ft), the show and its adjacent events, conferences, awards and live demonstrations take place. CES is not open for public visitors and requires a registration either as a trade visitor representing a business or a journalist to enter. Regardless, an average total of over 140,000 attendees take part of CES each year.
A total of 3,600 businesses presented concepts and finished products for mass production during the show's last edition in 2017. Additionally, for the first time the venue has expanded to use the facilities of Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino and the Sands Expo & Convention Center.
